Elementalists Will Release Tuesdays and Fridays During November

The title says it all, but I should probably elaborate:

November is NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writer’s Month), a month in which writers challenge themselves to write 50,000 words during just 30 days.  It is a pretty big undertaking, one which I have tried 4 times in the past, only succeeding twice.  Now, technically the idea is to start a new novel from scratch so that by the end of the month you have yourself a novella length story, buuuut … there’s no way I could do that and continue to update Elementalists regularly, and I am really, really enjoying my time working on it.  So I’m going to cheat a little, and instead challenge myself to write 50,000 words of Elementalists during the month instead.

Because of this, Elementalists will be switching from bi-weekly (every other week) to bi-weekly (twice weekly) during the month of November.  New chapters will be posted on the usual Tuesdays and on Fridays, with the exception of the first Friday of the month (since that takes is the 2nd, not quite enough time for me to finish the chapter).  So Chapter 9 will be released on Tuesday the 5th, and a total of 8 chapters (should) be released in the month.  If a Tuesday or Friday goes by without an update, please feel free to bother me about it because that means I am massively, massively behind on my word count.

Now I know what some of you are thinking: I know the word count of an average Elementalists chapter, and 8 chapters is not going to be anywhere near 50,000 words.  Well, firstly, thanks for being such a fan you are actually doing word counts on my chapters.  Second, you are right, I’m going to have quite the backlog of chapters when this is all over.  Thing is, I do run an edit on chapters before I post them (believe it or not with some of the errors that make it through) so two chapters a week is about the fastest I feel comfortable having time to get them a presentable state.  The good news is that having such a big backlog of chapters afterwards means I can probably keep up a faster release schedule post-November, though I’m not sure what that schedule would be just yet.  I’ll make an announcement near the end of the month with an update.

I’ll be posting word count updates on my facebook page, for those of you who want to follow along.

Thank you all for reading and supporting my work!
